serious contender, what are my holes?

Postby GoTwinkiesGo » Mon Apr 06, 2009 4:57 am

12 Team H2H Keeper League (keep 6: 2 hitters/2 pitchers minimum) Extra Categories: H, OPS, BB, QS

my team:
C Victor Martinez......................SP Tim Lincecum
1B Miguel Cabrera......................SP Zach Greinke
2B Kelly Johnson........................RP Frank Fransisco
3B Adrian Beltre........................RP Troy Percival
SS Jose Reyes...........................P Chris Ray
OF Grady Sizemore.....................P Jose Arredondo
OF Bobby Abreu.........................P Adam Wainwright
OF Daniel Murphy.......................BN Kevin Slowey
Util Todd Helton........................BN Randy Johnson
BN Delmon Young.......................BN Clayton Kershaw
BN Ryan Spilborghs.....................DL John Smoltz
BN Travis Snider
DL Alex Rodriguez

3rd year of the league i know it's a decent team (especially when arod gets back), but it's tough to take a step back and look at my team objectively.

im a waiver-wire hawk so i usually get saves that way, but what do you guys think of this group? any stats i need to focus on acquiring?

Good team Troy Percival will definatly not last the whole season so I would be keeping an eye on which backups land a closer role mid season.

I agree with the previous poster. You have a pretty good team, but you could certainly improve your closers. In a 12 team league there won't be any serviceable closers on the WW, however keep an eye on this kid Perry on the Tigers. He might become the closer once Rodney implodes. If need be you could also trade for a closer, you have nice trade bait in Delmon Young and Spilborghs. Also, once A-Rod comes back you will put him as your 3rd baseman and you could either trade Beltre or Helton.

Ya i would suggest working on a little better pitching especiall relievers. Maybe another SOLID outfielder. But a stellar roster
