Acta is an idiot. Dukes' .386 OBP last year was a fluke? That's better than Kearns has ever done.

There are plenty of factors besides statistics that go into decision making. Unless you have perfect information, you can't possibly make a statement like this. I tend to give the benefit of the doubt to the guy whose job it is to make these decisions, especially because Acta has proven to have a solid grasp of the importance of statistics...we're not talking about Dusty Baker here.

I will admit the possibility that starting Kearns is a showcase for trade....but that doesn't change my belief that Dukes is overrated from a fantasy perspective.

You can trust the manager all you want, but that doesn't change that Dukes was the best hitter on the team last year (and now the best except for Dunn, unless you think Nick Johnson can return to 05/06) and Kearns has been terrible for 2 yrs. running.
