Help round out my pitching staff (WHIR)

Postby TexArcher » Sun Apr 05, 2009 7:23 pm

Eight team league

Stats = W, L, SV, BB, K, ERA, WHIP, K/9, OBPA

45 inning min per week or all pitching categories are lost

My starters as of yesterday's draft:

Roy Halladay
Josh Beckett
James Shields
Javier Vazquez
Fausto Carmona
Ryan Dempster
John Maine

I'm pretty happy with the first four, what I'd like are comments on the bottom three. I think Fausto will have a nice rebound year (agree/disagree?), but I'm not at all sold on Dempster being as good as he was last year or Maine returning to decent form.

Also, available free agent pitchers include Derek Lowe, Oliver Perez, Jered Weaver, Jiar Jurrjens, Ian Snell. Because of our innings requirement, there tends to be a fair amount of streaming and these seem to be the guys for that purpose, but it also seems that one of them will likely catch on and stick on somebody's team. Which guy(s) might that be, and would you rather have them than Dempster or Maine heading in to the season?

Thanks in advance and WHIR.

I'd drop Carmona or Maine for Lowe.....

Even tho Lowe's K/9 is not great, Carmona's is very low....Maine has not looked great since June of last year...
