Do I drop a player to fill an empty RP position? Leave Link

10 team, keeper league, H2H

7x7, w/ standard 5x5 cats + H, OPS and K/9, QS

So I targeted SP due to QS. Also targeted young pitchers that I thought would have high k/9 (due to keeper league). I ended up w/ M. Gonzales and Hoffman as my Closers (sucks in a 10 team league IMO). However, w/ Hoffman out a month and Scherzer also out, I only have 1 player w/ RP eligibility (M. Gonzalez).

Do I drop a player to pick up a RP, or just leave that spot empty? Right now I'm leaning toward dropping hoffman, as he has the least value in a keeper league IMO.

My roster:
C: Salty
1B: Pujols
2B: B. Roberts
3B: Aramis Ramirez
SS: Tulo
OF: Soriano
OF: Ordonez
OF: J. Bruce
UTIL: P. Fielder
BEN: J. Upton (OF), C. Maybin (OF), N. Cruz (OF)

SP: Liriano
SP: A.J. Burnett
RP: M. Gonzalez
RP:
P: E. Bedard
P: Y. Gallardo
P: Chien-Ming Wang
BN: Kershaw (SP), Carmona (SP), D. Price (NA), M. Scherzer (DL), Hoffman (DL)
DL: Kelvim Escobar

top RP FA:
Hong-Chih Kuo (I'd give up on winning SV's, but great K/9)
G. Sherrill
S. Downs (closer in Tor. - how long though?)
JJ Putz (low ERA/WHIP - no SV's)

Last year, I won this league w/ only 1 closer (punting SV's category), so I'm not afraid to do it again. Plus any team that carry's a lot of closers, theoretically wont win QS often. So by punting SV's, I'll win QS most of the time.

I don't want to drop any of my young OF due to their breakout potential. I could drop K. Escobar, but it will only cost me a 23rd rd pick to keep him next year (if he comes back on fire). Don't want to drop Kershaw, Scherzer, Price (obviously). Carmona is looking great in ST, as is Wang. Hoffman seems like the best choice if I want to drop a player. IDK. Suggestions?

Don't leave an open spot. If you're in a 10 team mixed with OPS and H, I don't think you need to hang onto Maybin, and I bet escobar will still be there if you drop him. I'd drop Escobar over Hoffman in case you don't punt saves.
As far as who to pick up, your K/9 looks pretty good already so take Sherill and compete in saves. But you might want to stream a 2 starter SP/RP in some weeks based on your opponent (like a J Sanchez or J Zimmerman)

Help with mine?

Id drop Hoffman for Sherrill. Hoffman will ikely be on waivers/FA if/when you want him back. The thing with RP is that there is always someonelosing a job and somone else silling in. I like your approach in devaluing saves for all the other pitching cats...they obviosly favor SP in your league.

I agree with keeping Maybin in a keeper league, but I do like Sherill better than Hoffman. I also don't think you need to keep Escobar either. Maybe drop Escobar for Sherill?

Thanks for the help with mine.
