What does everyone think of the two Texas kid pitchers Feliz and Holland. I'm in an AL only keeper/dynasty auction tomorrow and I like the situation they're in. You've gotta figure that some combination of Millwood, Padilla, and Benson won't even make it to the all star break. Can either of the kids start to make a name for themselves later this year? How about for next year, do you think they could both start in the rotation? From what I understand Feliz is flat out heat, Holland is a bit more polished and more of a groundball pitcher would would help in Arlington. I'd like to buy one of them and stash him on my reserve.

Both will start in AAA. It seems the growing feeling is that Holland will be up by mid-season, if not a little earlier, while Feliz is more likely a September callup or next year. They will definitely both start next year. Holland is more polished in terms of possessing 3 pitches, control, and ability to hold runners on. Feliz still has a little work to do in each of those areas, but nobody seems too worried about it. Keep in mind that Feliz is two years younger than Holland. Feliz is still considered to be the more prized prospect, but that gap seems to narrow every time Derek takes the mound.
Also, keep an eye on a kid named Michael Main this year. He's in position to shoot through the system the way Holland did last year.

Thanks Hookem, that's exactly what I was looking for. I'm not expecting big numbers from either of them for this year but I agree that it sounds like Holland is a little closer to the bigs right now and isn't that much below Feliz in the long run either. As a result I think I'll take a run at Holland in tomorrow's draft as I think he'll be flying under the radar a little more and the price should be cheaper.
