Help with final SP?? WHIR ALWAYS!

Postby somervillesoxfan » Sun Apr 05, 2009 10:06 am

I am in a 10 team H2H league with the following pitching stats:
W, L, CG, SHO, SV, K, SVOP, ERA, WHIP, K/BB.

Im looking for one more pitcher to round out my staff. Here are the free agents:
J Guthrie, M Parra, J Sanchez, A Pettite, C Volstad, I Snell, J Maine, and S. Marshall.

Who should I grab and rank them if possible.

Leave a link and I always reply.

Thanks

I would take a chance on Snell... people seem to think he is in for a bounce-back type of year - if not you have a lot of option later on it appears

Out of that mix I like Parra and Sanchez. The rest are what they are... not much upside and firly underwhelmidn stats. However, these guys could easily come out of (seemingly) nowhere to be very solid assets. I consider them in the same class as Ubaldo Jiminez and Wandy Rodriguez. I haven't heard much on Snell, but he might also fit into this category.

Please help with mine. Drop Span for Freese?

I would rank them in this order:

Volstad
Parra
Maine
S. Marshall
Pettite
Guthrie
Sanchez
Snell (the others are all grouped together, except Snell, you shouldnt even be looking at him as a pick up in relation to the others in my opinion)

please help in return:

Jon Sanchez is the best of the bunch; expect a much lower ERA this year (which was inflated by bad luck in the past) and a K per inning.

Tanks for your help.

I would go Parra first, then Sanchez, and Snell.
