SP/Bat help from FA...? WHIR

Postby lachlanoddy » Sat Apr 04, 2009 9:39 pm

Hey there,

In a 10 team H2H league I have managed to gouge out a more than serviceable RP by picking up Ray and Francisco (a kind of a flyer really) from free agency. But, I do not like my lineup situation at 2B and 3B. And I could use help at SP too, although having only 4 bench spots makes life tough for having to start 10 batters every day...!

Anyway, I was looking at FA, and the following are all on my list as potential helpers. Any thoughts/advice on what/if I should do...?

10 team, H2H, NON keeper league
R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OPS, K, CYC
W, SV, HLD, K, ERA, WHIP, CG, NH

C Russell Martin (LAD - C)
1B Miguel Cabrera (Det 1B, 3B)
2B Chone FIggins (LAA, 2B, 3B)
3B Edwin Encarnacion (Cin, 3B)
SS J.J. Hardy (Mil, SS)
OF Alfonso Soriano (Chc, OF)
OF Vladimer Guerrero (LAA, OF)
OF Johnny Damon (NYY, OF)
UT Justin Morneau (Min, 1B)
UT Jhonny Peralta (Cle, SS)
BN Milton Bradley (Chc, OF)
BN Pat Burrel (TB, OF)

SP Carlos Zambrano (Chc, SP)
SP Felix Hernandez (Sea, SP)
SP Chad Billingsley (LAD, SP)
RP Mariano Rivera (NYY, RP)
RP Brian Fuentes (LA, RP)
P Chris Ray (Bal, RP)
P Frank Francisco (Tex, RP)
P Billy Wagner (NYM, RP)
BN Francisco Liriano (Min, SP)
BN Matt Garza (TB, SP)

A heck opf a lot of CUBS players for a die hard Cards fan...!

Avaialble FA bats;

Juan Pierre (just keeping an eye on this guy... what ever happened to him anyway???)
Matt Wieters (has C and 3B eligibility... could free up Martin's 3B eligibility?
Ryan Spilborghs (I have heard a lot about this guy... sounds worth taking a shot on...
Hank Blalock (Has 1B, and 3B eligibility... if he finds himself again he could help me out...)
Jason Kubel (After his spring you have to consider this guy right...?)

Pitchers that are out there....
Johnny Cueto
Jered Weaver
Phil Hughes (I know nothing about this kid... and help here would be nice)
Ted Lilly
Mark Buerhle
Fausto Carmona (I like this guy for a comeback season.... comeback to decent form that is...)
This game means nothing.... unless I'm winning!

I like, in no order, Weiters, Blalock, Cueto and Lilly.

Those are some good names for the FA list.

Get Wieters and Ted Lilly NOW! Wieters could be up by the 17th of April and is the next Braun\Longoria etc. Lilly is a great SP.

Drop Billy Wagner for Wieters. Weaver is a nice pickup at SP as well.
