I missed my draft night for this AL only league, 12 teams, 30 man rosters(very deep), 6x6 roto(holds and BB included) and I need to make some trades to get back on my feet to compete. I have been offered Howie Kendrick and Zack Greinke for my Ian Kinsler. I need a couple of starters and Kendrick would be serviceable at second base especially in an AL only league so do you think this enough after looking at my feeble roster?
On a second note, I am talking trade with another guy where I would send Vlad and Thornton for his Dice K and Luke Scott. What do you think about this one?
Here is my AWESOME team
C-Teagarden C-R. Johnson 1B-LaHair-minors 2B-Kinsler SS-Lillibridge 3B-Figgins MI-Casilla CI-M. Brown OF-Vlad OF-Cruz OF-Choo OF-Drew OF-Sweeney UTI-Ortiz BN-A, Jackson-minors BN-C. Thomas-minors
I would not do the Greinke/Kendrick deal. Kinsler is way better than the two of them combined. Greinke might do ok in K's and average in ERA and WHIP, but he's not going to get that many wins. If you deal Kinsler you need a better pitcher in return.
I'd definitely do the second deal where you get Dice K and L. Scott. That seems to play to your favor!
definitely don't make the Kinsler trade. I think stars are worth even more in "only" leagues than in a mixed league where there is more depth on the waiver wire. Stick with whatever studs you can find.
Stay way from both deals. If you're going to give up Kinsler, you better get way more in return, and don't pay what it costs to get Floyd, who will regress a lot this year. Think: 12-12 4.50 ERA as his ceiling.
Now the guy who wants Drew has changed the offer to:
MY JD Drew and Matt Thornton for HIS Bret Gardner and Brian Fuentes.
I need a second closer to Morrow so what do you think of this offer? His other OF's are Juan Rivera and Ty Wigginton. Should I ask for one of those instead or do you think this deal is a good idea? I think Gardner is a sleeper for steals and runs this year and Fuentes could put up great stats. What do you think?
