5x5 Keeper

Postby marsrover21 » Sat Apr 04, 2009 7:48 pm

Just drafted in my 5x5 keeper. Keepers were Soto, Votto, Soriano, Wright, and Hart. I had the number 2 pick in this 11 man league. Below are the results. What do you think?

C: Soto
C: Shoppach
1B: Votto
2B: Jose Lopez
3B: Wright
CI: Beltre
MI: Freddy Sanchez
OF: Soriano
OF: Hart
OF: Abreu
OF: McLouth
OF: Cody Ross
Util: Adam LaRoche
Bench: Delmon Young, Elvis Andrus

SP: Oswalt
SP: Lackey
SP: Matsuzaka
RP: F. Cordero
RP: Heath Bell
RP: Arredondo
RP: Leo Nunez
P: Wheeler
P: Lyon
Bench: Scherzer, Parra

What do you guys think? Glaring weaknesses? Spots for upgrades? Anyone I should drop? Trade?

Thanks.

Nice team, but in a 11 team league, i think Sanchez and Andrus could be cut.

And run w/ no MI?

Sanchez and Andrus both fill a need. Avg and SBs, respectively. The plan is to drop andrus for Sanchez if he doesn't work out, and vice versa. Also, I really like Andrus in a keeper.

But thanks for the help!

Overall you team is pretty good for an 11 teamer. You've got good catchers, corner infielders, and outfielders. The pitching is decent for a roto. The one are that could use improvement is up the middle. Post the waiver wire second basemen and shortstops, and post the WW starting pitchers if you can move Scherzer to a DL spot.

Dropped Sanchez, moved Lackey, Scherzer to the DL. Added Schumacher, Jonathan Sanchez, and Ryan Spilborghs.

Available MIs:

Yunel Escobar
Cristian Guzman
Aaron Hill
Freddy Sanchez
Yuniesky Betancourt
Marco Scutaro
Clint Barmes
Willie Harris
Jason Bartlett
Jerry Hairston Jr.
Brendan Harris
Alex Gonzalez
Ronnie Belliard
Notes: I am infatuated w/ Clint Barmes for some reason, I just cannot find room for him on this roster.

SPs:

Oliver Perez
Joe Saunders
Chris Volstad
Phil Hughes
Paul Maholm
Hiroki Kuroda
Ian Snell
Armando Galarraga
Micah Owings
Bronson Arroyo
Notes: i think I like Sanchez better than any of these guys. k's might be an issue for me this year, so every little bit helps until Scherzer gets back.

Aaron Hill is better than Schumaker or Sanchez; 2 years ago he put up some darn good numbers. Agreed on Sanchez.

I really like your team. No player hurts you in any one category, and it's pretty solid.

I really like the pickup of Schumaker. I think he's due to improve on his numbers, and in about a week he will have 2B added to his resume.
Looking forward to back to back championships in 2011!
