Pujols trade *Update*

Postby blove523 » Sat Apr 04, 2009 7:42 pm

I am in a 10 team H2H league with your basic categories. I have been trying to acquire Pujols since the end of the draft two weeks ago and I think I've finally cracked the other owner. I'm wondering if I'd be giving up too much in this deal.

I give:
Lance Berkman
Roy Oswalt

He gives:
Albert Pujols

My team looks like this:
C- Brian McCann
1b- Lance Berkman
2b- Brian Roberts
3B- Mark Reynolds
SS- Hanley Ramirez
LF- Adam Dunn
CF- Matt Kemp
RF - Nick Markakis
UTIL- Adrian Gonzalez
UTIL- Jose Lopez

SP- Tim Lincecum
SP- Roy Oswalt
RP- Heath Bell
RP- Huston Street
P- Josh Beckett
P- Adam Wainwright
P- Francisco Liriano
B- Yovanni Gallardo
B- Matt Garza
B- Fausto Carmona
B- Chris Ray
B- Erik Bedard

He said he's thinking about Oswalt, but he might want Lincecum. I think I have enough depth at SP to let Lincecum go, but I'd like to get your opinions.

He said he'd really want to go Berkman, Oswalt, Lincecum for Pujols, Billingsley.

This is his team:
C- A.J. Pierzynski
1B- Albert Pujols
2B- Chase Utley
3B- Aramis Ramírez
SS- J.J. Hardy
OF- Carlos Beltrán
OF- Matt Holliday
OF- Andre Ethier
Util- Carlos Delgado
Util Brad Hawpe
BN Shin-Soo Choo

SP Dan Haren
SP Chad Billingsley
RP Brad Lidge
RP José Valverde
P Daisuke Matsuzaka
P Ryan Dempster
P Brian Wilson
BN Derek Lowe
BN Clayton Kershaw
BN Chris Carpenter
BN Gil Meche

I am ok with that trade although I think you should get another player in return. If you have to throw in Linc than you def need to get another player. But you have a lot of depth and I think you are on the right path.

I would do it for Berkman/Oswalt. Def not Berkman/Lincecum

Id also see if you could get a lesser pitcher back along with pujols.

This is a no brainer, take it before he cancels the trade.

Definitely take Pujols for Berk/Oswalt

Definitely do NOT trade Berk/Linc though

Do you think if I traded Berkman, Lincecum, and Oswalt that it would be too much to ask in return for Pujols and Haren?

No not too much. Actually not enough. Subtract Oswalt and you have a decent deal.

Do the deal. Berkman is too inconsistent, and you have a very deep pitching staff that can survive the loss of Oswalt just fine.
