I've been hearing a lot of news here in Chicago about how Frank Thomas is in much better shape than last season, and that he's focused on getting his average back, no matter what cost it might be to his power numbers. He's worked with a hitting coach during the off-season trying to gain back his ability to hit into the gap in right-center field. Remember, Thomas bounced back from a mediocre season a couple of years ago to win the American League Comeback Player of the Year Award; he's completely healthy this year, so keep an eye on him.

I heard the interview he did that said he was pissed that he didn't get paid more $. I thought his attitude was back, but I guess not. He's my fave player, but he's pissed me off lately. I hope he does well. He is one of the best hitters of the past 15 years, that's for sure.

If Thomas doesn't have another great year he could miss out on the Hall of Fame, and that would be a real shame.

He went 4 for 4 the other day and had 2 HRs with 4 RBIs (I think those stats are correct, either way, he had a great day).

Thomas is still a decent player, but not even near the force he was.
