Rank a few free agents

Postby wkpdpack » Sat Apr 04, 2009 5:22 pm

I have to draft a few replacement players for those going on the DL. I'm in a 12 team keeper league, 5x5 roto scoring. Can you rank the top 10 from the list below?

Teahen
Winn
Morales
Helton
Ishikawa
J. Fields
Andy LaRoche
DeJesus
Hermida
Greene
Rowand
Scott
Fukudome
Church
D. Murphy (TX)
J. Zimmerman
Owings
S. Marshall
Gregg
Blackburn
E. Jackson
Perkins
Bush
Wellemeyer
Lohse
Moyer
Lannan
Villanueva
Kuo

My current team:
C Navarro, Snyder
1B Howard
2B Kinsler
3B Gordon
SS Furcal
MI Aviles
CI Morneua
OF Braun, Kemp, Granderson, Milledge, A. Jones
U Adam LaRoche
P Billingsley, C. Lee, Greinke, Baker, Scherzer, Kuroda, KRod, H. Bell, Percival
Bench: Blanton, McGowan, G. Sanchez
Minor bench: I. Stewart, Rasmus, Fowler, Brignac, Smoak

I'll also be placing Sanchez on my minor league bench and will have to drop one of the above. Is Brignac the one to drop??

I like Morales, DeJesus for keepers; Helton and Fukodome otherwise. looks like you can use some SP help as well.

I don't think I could confidently rank 10 guys at this type of production level which is gonna be pretty minimal. Gregg is the obvious #1 though b/c he is a closer

otherwise I like these 2 out of the bunch
J. Fields
J. Zimmermam

The rest are all about the same, average at best with little upside

Grab Gregg asap he shouldn't even be available at this point in time.

I agree the rest of the available players are pretty crappy.

You could use another 3b.

Grag Gregg ASAP and trade one of your closers for a SP.
With the other free spot add Jordan Zimmerman.
Drop Sanchez for Fields (nice backup sleeper for 3b)
Dump Blanton for Helton (looking good maybe one last curtain call)?

Try to do a 2 for 1 and grab Hermida with the free spot. trade one of your young OF and one of your closers for a quality innings eating ace like a Lowe or Halladay.
The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!

Just find a owner that want to trade teams with you. :-b

I think it's Gregg ASAP and then the others are kind of a crap shoot. I would rather spend a bench spot on a guy with a high upside. Gregg is head and heels above the rest, so grab him first.

Gregg & Khalil Greene jump out at me.

To a lesser extent, Teahen (to use against RHP if you need him) & Villanueva (for early saves help)
