My Pedroia/Aviles for Kemp/Kendrick? WHIR

Postby coma » Sat Apr 04, 2009 1:49 pm

The other owner wants to trade one of his outfielders and I mentioned I was interested in Kemp/Hamilton. He then proposed this trade to me..

I get:
Matt Kemp
Howie Kendrick

I give:
Dustin Pedroia
Mike Aviles

The big problem is that Kendrick will be my only 2nd baseman after this. Should I do it? Anything I can counter with? It might be nice to get rid of my logjam at 1st/3rd instead of Aviles. Also, Shields on his team intrigues me a bit..

8 team H2H league.
Hitter cats are R/H/HR/RBI/SB/AVG/OBP/SLAMS.
Pitcher cats are IP/W/SV/HR/K/ERA/WHIP/NoNos.

Even though DPed probably won't be as good as he was last year, I don't think you go trading away an MVP 2nd baseman. Especially when all you're left with is an injury-prone replacement. Try to work a deal involving Votto/Morneua and Jeter instead.

I think you're looking pretty good in the outfield as it is. Kemp is an upgrade, but Kendrick would be a downgrade. Seems like a wash to you and a gain for him. What about countering by adding Hart on your side with Hamilton from his?

thanks for mine. i agree, it's not like you need a big OF upgrade (grady et al are very solid) and i personally think kemp is one of the more overrated guys right now. power will maybe be 22-24 not 30ish, and most of the stat geeks think hie steals go down. also, kendrick can't stay healthy. ever.

pass.

In a league that shallow, I'd rather have a top 3 2B in Pedroia than another outfielder. Pass.
