Fowler or Schafer?

Postby Renshaw » Sat Apr 04, 2009 8:22 am

Is either worth a roster spot in a 10 team Keeper League? Both could have huge upside in the majors, but my OF depth is already deep. Do I cut ties with some of those bench players?

My Team: 10 Team H2H Keeper, 6x6 Cats (5x5 with HLD and OBP)

C Victor Martinez (Cle - C,1B)
1B Lance Berkman (Hou - 1B)
2B Alexei Ramirez (CWS - 2B,SS,OF)
3B Aramis Ramirez (CHC - 3B)
SS Stephen Drew (Ari - SS)
OF Carlos Beltran (NYM - OF)
OF Adam Dunn (Was - 1B,OF)
OF Jermaine Dye (CWS - OF)
Util David Ortiz (Bos - Util)
Util Andre Ethier (LAD - OF)
Bench Howie Kendrick (LAA - 2B)
Bench Carlos Gomez (Min - OF)
Bench Adam Jones (Bal - OF)
Bench Travis Snider (Tor - OF)

SP Roy Halladay (Tor - SP)
SP Chad Billingsley (LAD - SP)
SP Josh Johnson (Fla - SP)
RP Frank Francisco (Tex - RP)
RP Leo Nunez (Fla - RP)
P Troy Percival (TB - RP)
P George Sherrill (Bal - RP)
P Dan Wheeler (TB - RP)
Bench Brett Myers (Phi - SP)
Bench Zack Greinke (KC - SP)
Bench Jair Jurrjens (Atl - SP)
DL Trevor Hoffman (Mil - RP)

Also looking to drop Kendrick for an SP or an RP. Choices are:

Duchscherer (then I could DL him when he's put on it), Jonathan Sanchez, Manny Parra, Mike Pelfrey, Wandy Rodriguez, Anthony Reyes, Ian Snell, Kenshin Kawakami, Aaron Cook, Jeremy Guthrie, Grant Balfour, Jesse Carlson, Cory Wade, Matt Thornton, Peter Moylan, Rafael Soriano, Rafael Perez, Jesse Litsch

I'd leave Fowler and Schafer alone for now, but I'd move Nunez for Wandy, Sherrill still has the job and you should get what saves he'll get before moving him.

I like Fowler, but you've got nobody to drop for him except maybe Kendrick. I'd rather have Jon Sanchez for Sherrill.

Sherrill is there because I need some saves. Same with Nunez (and since my league counts holds, Nunez would grab some them too) since Lindstrom is said to be out to start the season?
