Yahoo! 12 Team Roto - Lack of HRs?

Yahoo! Public 12 Team Roto. Just drafted this evening. I had 11th pick. I only do one team per year and have ended up with the 11th pick in three of the past four seasons. Go figure.

Unfortunately, I had to reach for a few players (Abreu, J. Upton, Damon, Meche). It wasn't my intention to draft the Yankees' 1-4 hitters, but that's the way it worked out.

C - A.J. Pierzynski (19th Round)
1B - Mark Teixeira (1st)
2B - Chase Utley (2nd)
SS - Derek Jeter (7th)
3B - Melvin Mora (17th)
OF - Bobby Abreu (6th)
OF - Johnny Damon (9th)
OF - Justin Upton (15th)
Util - Carlos Peña (11th)

Bench:
OF - Hideki Matsui (18th)
OF - Coco Crisp (20th)
OF - J.D. Drew (21st)

SP - Brandon Webb (3rd)
SP - Roy Halladay (4th)
RP - Joe Nathan (5th)
RP - Joakim Soria (8th)
P - Jon Lester (10th)
P - Javier Vázquez (12th)
P - Frank Francisco (15th)

Bench:
SP - Derek Lowe (14th)
SP - Gil Meche (16th)

My top 9 combined for just under 200 homers so I know power will be a challenge. Some of my players are a bit older and more fragile, which is why I have 6 OF for now.

On the other hand, I'm pleased with my pitching staff.

Feedback? Suggestions?

I like your pitching rotation a lot! Stay put there, if you can. The only thing I might do would be to trade one of your top closers. You tend to get max value out of guys like Nathan and Soria. They can be used to upgrade your OF.

You position player bench is full of non-exciting OFers. I would like to have some high-upside infielders in at least one or two of those slots. Overall the lineup ain't too bad. I'm not high on either Jeter or Mora, so keep your eyes open for someone who falls through the cracks.

you're missing a bit of power, yes. mora will not likely repeat last year's numbers. upton might be a good source of power, though. still, you have a well balanced team and should be competitive in every other category.

dashiz is right, you can net a nice power hitter for one of your closers. heck, you have an excellent rotation and could likely stand the loss of someone like lester to a boston fan who will overpay ;-)

You have a decent team, i'm not a fan of Mora at 3rd though, I would look to upgrade there. As the other poster said, you are lacking in the power category, I would concur with that statement. Your outfield is ok, keep an eye on Justin Upton though I had him last year and it was a rollercoaster ride! I like your pitching, Halladay and Lester especially, however I think Webb is going to have a rough year.
