McLouth trade - Please help. WHIR

Postby BillyHallDisciple » Fri Apr 03, 2009 9:43 pm

12-team 6x6 with standard cats & OPS and K/9 added. Keeper league, salaries go up $5 per year against $220 cap.

Dude offered me Nate McLouth, Carlos Villanueva, and Aaron Hill for my Joakim Soria and Ian Stewart. I like the idea of getting McLouth, but would have to cut Daniel Murphy (or LaPorta) and fill the Soria/Stewart void with Villanueva and A. Hill. That part doesn't sound very appealing.

Worth it for me in the end, you think?

Fantasy sports are ruled by the 50-50-90 rule...

Anytime you have a 50/50 choice between two players, 90% of the time, you'll get it wrong

I agree that you are better off where you are now.

I also think it is interesting (and totally wrong) that Weiters cost more than Martin.

I got Martin two years ago for $1 so now his value has gone up to $11 (per the $5-a-year increase)... I went up to $13 on Wieters in this year's auction because he's pretty much the consensus #1 hitting prospect and I've read that kid's got the kind of talent we don't see come around too often. So anyways, that's my explanation.

Thanks for the help. Yeah, I'd love to get McLouth (he's a poor man's Sizemore after all), but I'd be hurting without the Mexicutioner + having to play Hill at MI instead of Ian Stewart wouldn't be good. I think Stew could have a nice year, even though right now he's not officially a starter.

I would also stand pat. There's no way Weiters should be worth more than Martin.

Please help

Wieters worth more than Martin is fine in a keeper, especially since he'll be better when finally called up.
