Ianetta has started out pretty losuy - 1 for 17 with his lone hit being a solo shot. - Do you think Volstad for Iannetta may be a possibility. -------------------------------- What does everyone think about Shoppach. I am not too high on my current catchers and have been offered Kelly Shoppach for Chris Volstad. I like Volstad as a sleeper this year but think the upgrade at C would be nice. The guy that I am trading with has Doumit, Ianetta, Shoppach and Sandoval
I was thinking about countering with Cain for Iannetta...thoughts?

on the one hand, i think iannetta is going to have a very nice year - maybe a top 5 catcher kind of year. and your current catchers are sort of 'meh'. teagarden could break out, but not catching backup to salty.
on the other hand, i worry about your depth at SP after cain goes. yoga, kershaw, jimenez and volstad is a young rotation with tons of upside - and downside. at your bats are pretty good even with those catchers.
if you're comfortable with little wiggle room for error from your starters, then make the offer. you can always find someone serviceable on waivers.
Keep your arms for now, neither catcher that you own will hurt you, and if Volstad (who I'm not a fan of), has a hot start you may be able to get Ianetta for him.
