Should I trade Cliff Lee, Ricky Weeks & Trevor Cahill for Lackey, Loney & Adam Dunn in my 5X5 League? And Why?
My Team C - Martin 1B - Tex 2B - Roberts SS - Reyes 3B - Aramis OF - C.Lee, Holiday & Hunter U - Burrell, Matsui P - Peavy, Lee, Vazquez, Lowe, Meche, Big Unit, Wandy Rodriguez, Sommenstein, Cahill, Baker (Mariano, Valverde) Bench: Weeks, Jacobs, Reynolds, Tavarez, Giles
I make this deal immediately. I personally like Lackey over Cliff Lee due to the track record, I understand that Lackey is hurting now. Weeks is a trade chip for you as you have a stud 2b in Roberts. Cahill has the upside but I think he'll be a bit inconsistent this year and with your pitching depth you can afford to give him up. Dunn is a consistent source of big power year in, year out and is an upgrade over Hunter in your OF. Loney is a solid piece who's a nice addition for depth.
Hal·la·day, n. 1. every fifth day in Philadelphia. 2. a day of rest for the bullpen. 3. innings eater. 4. doc. 5. ace.
I would pass on this deal, you dont need Dunn, as your OF is stacked. I wouldn't worry about Cliff Lee spring training, after all its only spring, he sucked last year too, and went on to a Cy Young season. NOW he wont do that again, but he should be good for 15 wins. easy. I think the start of Lackey's injuries are coming......to much wear and tear on that arm. THis is the second straight season that he has been down with an injury to start a year. It might continue all year. who knows. Weeks is having a great Spring, and Randolph is touturing him. With excellent results. I see a big season FINALLY from him.
