Adam Jones for Chris Ray/Spilborghs? (UPDATE) ..WHIR

i have another owner interested in Adam Jones. i need a closer and was thinking about just offering Jones straight up for Ray. now he just sent me an offer of Ray and Spilborghs for Adam Jones.

i do currently have a proposal out of Adam Jones for Bobby Jenks. should i cancel that and accept the Ray/Spilborghs for Jones?
ill have to drop someone, maybe Daniel Murphy? or Chase Headley?

UPDATE- the owner of Jenks rejected the trade for Jones. i then accepted the Jones deal so i get Chris Ray and Ryan Spilborghs. i had to drop Daniel Murphy to do so.

Well Ray isn't guaranteed to be the closer just yet. I'd wait and see if your Jenks offer gets accepted (doubt it does, but worth a try). I really like Adam Jones this year, has tremendous upside and could help out a ton in steals. With that said, you look pretty deep in the OF so if you're desperate for saves, I guess it's worth gambling on Ray. And Spilbourghs is a nice sleeper as well. Give the Jenks deal a night for the other guy to sleep on, and if it's not accepted, I'd go for this Ray deal.

The closer situation in Baltimore is a mess; I wouldn't touch it.

i certainly wouldn't try to trade for ray at this point. im actually pretty against trading for closers period.

WHat kind of league is it?

Roto? with keepers? w/o keepers?
H2H?

It really depends.

If its a Roto league with out keepers you can use Jones later in the season for a trade later in the season to get a closer.
If its Roto with keepers you may just want to keep Jones and find another way to get some saves.
If its H2H you may also want to hold Jones and find another route for saves.

If you keep up with most teams during the year there is going to be some kind of closer situation that arises. This should allow you to pick up closers through the season to pick up some cheap saves, without getting rid of Jones.

Just hold on to Jones' 20/20 potential unless you can get a better deal.
