Its the anemia secondary to the bleeding thats slowing him down now. Some fluids and some Iron will have him at full speed in a couple weeks. Japanese have a higher incidence of stomach ulcer/maligancies because of all the smoked fish/meats.

Glad to hear that he should be OK. Kept talking up his injury on the draft board and got him at the end of the 4th round in a 12 team league. Hopefully he'll be fine by the 2nd week of April and he'll have his usual .310, 40SB year, 110 R year.

If you still have a late draft, looks like there is good value in Ichiro's draft position now!

He is going to miss about 10% of the season so you should be projecting more like 36SB and 99 runs. A guy with those stats and very little power is only worth a 4th round pick if he hits .320+ and Ichiro very well could.

He's only on target to miss a week, hardly 10% of the season. The DL stint is retroactive to a week ago, last time he was in a game.
