I'm concerned about my rotation - Shields and Lester had a huge bump in IP last year, which has been known to lead to bad things. Cueto, Carmona, and Gallardo are young have some question marks around them. I'm expecting good numbers but also some serious chop throughout the season. I essentially have no "true" fantasy Ace and many medium risk/medium reward pitchers who will put me way over our IP limit.
This other manager isn't happy with his 2b situation (or his closer situation) and i happen to have some to spare. He wont' part with lincecum, webb or haren, but i'm thinking Greinke can put up similar numbers and really help me with Ks and Quality Starts. Also, Weeks will give me two mediocre but high upside second basemen, which i think isn't so bad. What do you think?
Seems like a Really Good deal for you. Your Trading RP who would normally be benched on your team for a decent pitcher. and Uggla is better then weeks but overall i think this is an even fair trade and both of you guys are making improvements in were you need. Thanks for the help btw
the problem with relying on Weeks and Kendrick is that they both have some injury history. I think the weakest link in your rotation is Carmona. If Jose Lopez isn't on a team I'd grab him and not worry about getting Weeks back.
thanks for the input, guys. lopez is taken, unfortunately. the way i see it, if both weeks and kendrick are hurt at the same time, well then, maybe someone is trying to tell me something...
Jump on this ASAP, I was mentioning to another poster in the forum today That I think Weeks is going to have a great season, finally start to contribute. 15-20 HR,s and 40-50SB's with a bump up in the average department. Willie Randolph is doing wonders with him this spring. Corpas has been beaten out by Houston Street, besides its Coors Field. Uggla is Uggla, no Average whats so ever, and I think his HR's will fall this season. He is ranked too high. Grienke is an excellent buy, BIG SEASON expected from him, and the new look Royals.
Yeah I say do it Uggla goes off during the first half then vanishes second half and Corpas is not that dependable anyway. Your getting a good pitcher, that you need, and weeks can fill in just fine.
I think Weeks will have a solid year with 15-20 HR's and 30-40 SB but only a .260 average. Uggla with give you about 10 more HR's but a lot less SB with the same average.
The main kicker is Greinke. He will improve on last year (which was very solid) and will give you solid k's.
Sure you are taking a little bit of a risk with Weeks, but I think it will end positive for you in the end.

I'm a Milwaukee fan and I've maybe not seen a grand total of 15 games over the past 5 seasons. So I'm very familiar with Rickie Weeks. Unfortunately, he is really not that good.
The numbers some of you are talking about for Weeks this year... a few seasons ago I hoped he could get there, but I just don't see it anymore.
The guy certainly has wheels, and that gives him 20 SB ability, but he just isn't good enough at stealing bases to put up better numbers than that. He just doesn't have the knack for it. I think 15 HR is all you will get from him, and that could even be more like 11 or 12 HR. The guy does score a ton of runs, in large part due to leading off in a lineup with Braun hitting 3rd and Fielder hitting cleanup. He at least does draw a decent (not great) amount of BB.
His AVG is TERRIBLE though, which also hurts his SLG. However, are you saying that you have OBP instead of AVG? If that's the case... in a 6x6 league with OBP instead of AVG, no SLG, and triples... Weeks has more value than he would in many other league configurations. He did hit 7 triples last year.
Generally though for most custom leagues Uggla's value is overwhelmingly superior to Weeks. Like I said, I think that gap is narrowed for you because of your league setup, but still.
Getting back Greinke while giving up Corpas balances this trade out.
I'd still be hesitant to pull the trigger because of how skeptical I am of Weeks (he could end up losing his starting spot this season if we bring up Escobar at SS and move Hardy to 2B).
