Which young SP has the better upside?

Postby zedtech78 » Fri Apr 03, 2009 12:05 pm

J. Sanchez (WW)
M. Parra (WW)
K. Kawakami (WW)
A. Reyes (BN)

14-team Y! H2H Keeper League (15 keepers). Here's my pitching roster:

Pitchers: Webb (K), Shields (K), Nathan (K), Sherrill, Sherzer (K), Gallardo (K), Balfour, Reyes, Ray, Zimmermann

Batters: Martin (K), Teixeira (K), Uggla (K), Mora, Rollins (K), Cruz (K), Werth (K), Bradley, Thome, Choo (K), O. Cabrera, A. Hill.

Thanks!

Edit: just noticed a few more young SPs are on the WW. Added them to the selection list.

Hard to say...I don't know much about Kawakami. I would say:

1. Jonathan Sanchez: Plenty of SO's, faded at the end of the season
2. Manny Parra: Not sold on this guy, but I hate Reyes and don't know much about Kawakami
3. Kawakami
4. Anthony Reyes: I just don't like this guy. I never have been burned by him or anything, but I just never saw the allure.

I like Sanchez a lot. His innings jumped from 52 in 2007 to 158 last year. His arm got tired down the stretch and it showed in his split stats.

First set servicable, second set very ugly. If they can manage his innings a little better and he has normal growth he could be in for a good year.

Sanchez for me. His K rate is great and if he can build some more stamina and cut down on some of the walks he should be pretty effective.
