Okay....I posted I couple of trade offers I was sent for Braun Lastnight but I did not pull the trigger on any of them......I was just now sent this offer:
Brian Roberts/Loney for Quentin.
I am really thinking of taking this deal because it upgrades me at 2b and allows me to keep the core of my team pretty much intact. I have the outfield depth to help with the lose of Quentin.
Is this deal good and do you guys think I should take it???? Also I would need to drop someone from my team....who should I drop if I took this deal
Advice please! WHIR!!!!!
Here is my team:
Head2Head 5X5 C:Posada 1b:Berkman 2b:Kendrick 3b:Atkins SS:Jeter OF:Braun, Crawford, Quentin Util:Ortiz BN: Ibanez, Beltre, Hawpe, Kelly Johnson SP:Peavy, Kazmir, Grienke, Danks, C. Young BN: E. Santana, Moote
Do it, Quentin did have a great season, but as far as positional upgrades go, Roberts helps you out more at 2B than Quentin helps in the outfield. Losing Quentin will not hurt that bad for you anyways, the backups are suitable.
I would do this. I like quentin alot but Ibanez or Hawpe are very good replacements. Roberts is far better than Kendrick/Johnson. I would drop Kendrick...or Johnson...or Loney.
I think it's a good value but I'm not so sure you should take it flat out. Loney seems completely useless for you. It's almost like he's being thrown in for you to turn around and drop. Maybe you have plans to package him in another trade? Maybe you can add another play from your side to get a slightly upgraded player back? Just seems like there's a way to get a little bit more from this but not bad enough not to take if you can't.
I'd rather keep Quentin even if Roberts fits a need; I don't think much of Loney anyway and so he doesn't factor in. With the depth you have, I'd rather trade Atkins and Quentin for Utley to plug in Beltre and Ibanez in.
I would not make this deal, Quentin is just going to continue to rake, in Chicago (friendly park) 40hrs are not out of the question. Kendrick should be fine in the new look Angels Roster, I think he is hitting 2nd, should score plenty of runs for ya, great batting eye too boot.....PLUS you got Berkman at first, no need for Loney.
