Hey I was wondering if anyone could shed light on this dude for me.... I drafted him on my team in my CBS league but it says he is suspended next to his name for 5 games.... Is that going to take place at the beginning of the 09 season? I am in a weekly lineup league so I have to get my lineup set and I am confused as to whether this dude is going to actually play or not.

I don't know about any suspensions for Carmona, but I do know that he's bound to have a nice bounce back year (as will V-Mart and Pronk if you're a Tribe fan). So if you managed to draft him late in your league or picked him up off the FA list then you did a nice job, good sleeper pick!!

He's eligible to return April 8th, so I think he's pitching in the first week.

I am ineterested by this... I swear I looked into him last week and read somewhere that he got suspended for steroid use... and my memory is a (and this sounds INSANE) FIFTY game suspension... now, that could have been a typo somewhere if his suspension is really only FIVE games....?

I cannot find anything out about it now, other than he seems to be suspended for only 5 games (cbs info, which is what 7you already have).

I am watching this thread and looking for further updates/more certain info from someone in the know... any Indian's fans out there...? There have to be SOME right...?

Indians fan here. Fausto was suspended six games at the end of last year for a brawl with Gary Sheffield. It was reduced to five games. Since the incident happened with only a couple games left, maybe he has to sit out a couple to start this year. However I have not heard or read anything about Carmona's suspension (if it does even carry into this year) affecting his turn in the rotation.

FYI, he's pitching today in Houston.

EDIT: Paul Hoynes of the Plain Dealer says Carmona is scheduled to pitch the Indians second game. So don't worry about Fausto. I expect him to have a bounce back year.

Crazy! Thanks for the help to everyone.... I am really hoping for a bounce back from Fausto and he has pitched pretty well this spring.... Good luck to all...
