I'm in a monthly points league, and here are my OF: Adam Dunn Carlos Quentin Shane Victorino Jacoby Ellsbury Chris Young I have to start 3 OF, 2 of which are going to be Dunn and Quentin. Who should my other starting OF be? Scoring: single = 1 pt double = 2 pt triple = 3 pt HR = 4 pt R = 1 pt RBI = 1 pt BB = 1 pt SB = 1 pt

Do you mean SB instead of SD? In this type of points league with home runs worth the most, start the power with Dunn, Quentin, and Young.

Yeah, SB, not SD. I made the change. I used to look only at the HR points, but after 10 years of the same league, I have learned that the team who leads the league in runs scored has won the league 8 out of 10 years. Ellsbury will probably have the most runs scored, but even so, I was still leaning toward Victorino. You still think that power will serve me best?

All three should have around 90 runs, and Young gets the most RBI. I still go with him.

You're probably right. We use CBSSportsline to take care of our league, and even they have Young projected to have the most points (40 more than Ellsbury or Victorino). Thanks for your input.

Wow, monthly roster league would be tough! I agree with the above posters taking your league into consideration. BUT, I would almost lean towards Victorino. Nice line-up, great ball park, and possibilty for decent slugging #'s.

I think Ellsbury is too injury prone to start in a monthly league.

We can sub in for any injured players in our league during the month. So if I start Ellsbury and he gets hurt, I can sub in Victorino and get retroactive points from the beginning of the month. That little caveat makes our league even more interesting. You can start an injured player and choose from whoever has the most points at the end of the month and sub him in.

Nice little caveat, if I may say so. I still like Victorino though, but that is just me.
Help with mine?
