Give Sandoval to get Huff and Molina?

Postby LarryBoy » Thu Apr 02, 2009 8:15 pm

Second year manager here (and thanks to all for the help last year. I actually won my league in an unexpected upset!)

My team is below. It seems that my offensive weaknesses include 3B and OF (hopefully Teahen or Spilborgs comes through enough to trade or keep)

Another owner offered me Huff and Molina for Sandoval, which seems good to me as I think I get at least marginally better players at two positions, although Sandoval hit for a good average last year and offers multi-position value.

Is there something I don't know here? I believe Huff will not match last year's numbers but should still be good. Is this a good move, and, if so, who do I drop in this 2-1 deal?

Leave a link and I will give you my best, beginner-caliber thoughts.

Non-Keeper 10 Team Yahoo H2H League:
C - Pablo Sandoval
1B - Justin Morneau
2B - Dan Uggla
3B - Jorge Cantu
SS - Jimmy Rollins
IF - Adrian Gonzales
LF - Matt Holliday
CF - Josh Hamilton
RF - Bobby Abreau
OF - Denard Span
Util - Derek Jeter

SP - R. Halladay, D. Matsuzaka, E. Volquez, J. Verlander, Ted Lilly, Chen-Ming Wang
RP - Joe Nathan, Brian Fuentes, Matt Capps, Troy Percival

BN - Felipe Lopez, Mark Teahen, Ryan Spilborghs

I actually like the deal, if we are talking about Bengie, and not Yadier. Huff would be pretty useful as your util guy, and could add enough depth to fascilitate future deals.

Help with mine?

Yes and do not look back, you are winning big time in this deal even though I am high on Sandoval, I think him hitting 5th instead on 3rd is a big drop off. Think singles won't drive in Molina form anywhere, Molina will have more RBI's

Please help with mine

It's a good deal for you. Huff is fine, even if he regresses some you make out on this deal. It gives your team more depth.

good luck

Yes, and Spilborghs is junk in a 10 team league.
