I imagine that if the Red Sox placed Smoltz on the DL today, then it will happen tomorrow in yahoo.

A-Rod is on DL. Finally. Dunno know what took so long.
And its sux missing out on replacement players, so I was thinkin I might freese rosters 10 days before opening day to create an equal chance for everybody on those DL replacing FA pick ups in my league for next year.
But Im not sure its a good idea or not. What do you think?

I'm curious as to what role you think Smoltz will play that warrants him to be rostered. He's coming back from a serious injury and will likely pitch out of the pen but not as closer. So, I think at best he's a good reliever but will get no saves barring injury and I'm still anxious to see his velocity. I've always been a big fan of Smoltz but I really think he joined the Red Sox to be role playing leader but not a huge contributor on a world series contender.

I think (hope) Smoltz will grab the #5 SP when he comes back in mid-late May. I'm hoping he comes back at 90% of what he was before the injury, and we all know how good he can be. I drafted him in the 21st round so theres no risk involved. I think the upside is well worth the risk of clogging my DL spot for 6-8 weeks.
Worst case he ends up in the bullpen full time or has a set back and I drop him. I'd love to see him come back healthy and win 10 games.
BTW he finally went on yahoo's DL.
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!

Had to wait so long for Escobar to go on the DL that I missed out on picking up Bengie and had to settle for A.J. I hate that guy.
