Eric Bedard For Rodney from the tigers

Postby rmd08 » Thu Apr 02, 2009 5:18 pm

Im in a 12 team head to head league with 3 spots for closers. I have 5 closers, and my starting pitching is
Jake peavy
Adam Wainwright
Rich Harden
Ervin Santana
Micah Owenings
John Maine

closers Capps, Fuentes, Gregg, Rodney, Hanrahan

I've been offered Eric Bedard for Rodney or Hanrahan.... closers are crucial in this league but I have 5 and rodney and hanrahan are question marks what should I do? Should I hold out and try and get a guy like pelfry? Thanks

take the offer. rodney will blow 2 saves for every 1 he converts- he's your weakest closer. bedard has big upside if he stays healthy. and you can use more sp strength with injury risk in harden and ervin and weak pitchers in maine and owings. take it and smile, you've received a gift.

Take it before he changes his mind! Rodney is closer for the FIRST game -- Leyland made no commitment to him as THE closer. And as the previous poster noted, Bedard could be huge. Two years ago he was universally considered a top-10 SP. Even if he's a top-30 SP, he's more than worth sacrificing Rodney.

Good luck!

Rodney is awful. Go with the underrated Bedard.

It's a worthy gamble. Trade Rodney for Bedard.
