Trade Gregg for Chris Young (ARI)??? WHIR!

Postby Cypher74 » Thu Apr 02, 2009 1:24 pm

Hi all,

In a 12 team Yahoo H2H Points League which puts a heavy emphasis on pitching due to no innings limit, and 3 RP slots, so I can play 3 RP daily. That said, I think my OF is a bit weak and I think I can survive the loss of Gregg. There are a couple decent OF on the wire too. I could dump Penny and pick up J.D. Drew, Felipe Lopez or a young sleeper. Would love your thoughts...Leave a link and I'll help in return!

C - Ianetta
1B - Pujols
2B - K. Johnson
SS - Rollins
3B - Beltre
OF - Victorino, Ethier, Burrell
UTIL - Choo
UTIL - Thome
Bench - Sandoval

SP - Lester, Kazmir, Danks, Maholm, Carpenter, Volstad, Blanton, Penny
RP - Papelbon, Broxton, Gregg, Motte

hmmmm, you've got some AVG draining guys already - thome, burrell, beltre, although you could use young's steals. i think this is a good deal for you, i'm inclined to say wait a bit, but if you wait too long marmol could overtake gregg - which may happen. that said i'd drop blanton for jd drew as well.

thanks for answering mine

Personally I don't think your outfield is that bad. I really like Choo and I think that Pat the bat will put up solid numers in a stacked Tamba Bay lineup. I would have to see everyone on the WW to really give you the best answer, but I like Felipe Lopez so I would say to drop Penny and pick him up. Good luck!

Help with mine?

I think I agree with Hit Factory on this one; if you have a heavy emphasis on pitching and RP, I hang on to Gregg and pick up Lopez (although I'd probably drop Blanton over Penny, but YMMV) for speed. He's already said he's going to run more this year, and ARI's giving him the leadoff spot. Roster-wise, I like what you have better with Gregg/Lopez than with Blanton (or Penny)/C. Young.
