RA Dickey to take his place (rumored). Liriano to start opening day.

The Twins placed projected Opening Night starter Scott Baker on the 15-day disabled list this morning with right shoulder stiffness.

Bad spring, shoulder issue, young pitcher. Not exactly promising. Lost Lackey and now Baker already on a team that was light on pitching to begin with.

Doesn't sound too bad right now...have to wait and see how he bounces back in a couple weeks.

I'm worried and getting the feeling that, personally, this is going to be a jinxed year. I'm in an AL only keeper league, protected lists were due a week ago and I protected Lackey (who I knew was hurt but his low price made him a keeper), Devine, and Baker.

I have Baker in my league and I have been scouring for news. What I have found is "Shoulder Stiffness." The Twins said it is totally precautionary and he and they plan for him to make his scheduled 2nd start.

this scares the crap out of me. i didn't hear any word of this shoulder issue until just now, and he goes on the DL? smells fishy.

NOT good for a team with Joey Devine, Scott Baker, Sean Gallagher, Carlos Marmol as pitchers. WTF was I thinking?

Baker hasn't done well at all this spring, so I'm thinking giving him a start off might help take some pressure off of him and allow him to find his mechanics. The injury itself isn't bad and this is strictly a precautionary measure. If Baker was doing well this spring, he'd be starting opening night.
