one of the most lopsided trades ive ever seen. i refuse to veto, but i really would understand that one being killed by the league

Tex definitely has the value edge, but any talk of collusion is ridiculous. KRod is nothing to sneeze at, even if he does not have the same value as Tex.

No collusion, no veto. We all know there is a perceived value for each player, but depending on the situation, that can vary per owner. The whole point of playing is to run a team the way we each want to do it. As long as everyone is operating in good faith, why ruin that?

Can't veto, but it is kind of a strange trade from his perspective. It is not like Sandoval and Thome are so good that he doesn't need Tex.

Regardless, I guess his thinking is that he is getting the "best closer" and giving up Tex. I don't really know that I agree that KRod is the best closer, but whatever.

Fortunately, the leagues I participate in most often do have a lot of vetos. Which is a very good thing. I hate vetoing trades unless there is an obvious need to. There is always someone who will veto everything. Personally, to head off the trouble of a veto, I might offer Beltre and KRod for Tex right now as an option, that way the people threatening a veto will see that you are willing to work to even up the deal and you are not trying to snooker anyone....

Sorry, but upon looking at HIS roster, he can't afford to lose Tex unless he gets some equal hitting guy in return. Seeing that he lists Texeira as a bench player under Youk and whomever he lists at UT is a joke and makes me even more suspicious of this deal. :-?

Still, unless someone can show cause for veto, other than just idiocy and bad ownership, I wouldn't veto it.

I don't understand the move on his behalf, I would never trade a top level hitter for a closer. However, if the offer is on the table you must take it! However, I agree with the other posters, you should include someone in the deal to make it a little more fair and then the rest of your league might not be so quick to veto it. I wish someone made me this offer in my league!

If I was another team in the league I would immediately offer that other team an even better closer or two of them. ;-D

yep... you cannot veto a trade just becasue it's lopsided or a bad trade for one team... the only reason to ever veto a trade is if collusion is involved. if people just start vetoing unfair trades it creates a slippery slope, which turs into every team that is behind another team in the standing vetoing every trade they try to make. this is how league fall a part.

but i'm not saying that trading tex for KRod under any circumstances would not be the one of the dumbest trades of all-time.. just saying you can't veto due to idiocy.

ehhh.. I would veto. I can rationalize most bad trade but can't possibly see a reason behind this. He gives up a first rounder who is easily his best player for a 7th-ish rounder. The fact that this gives you 3 young first rounders in a keeper league without giving up a keeper makes it easier to veto.

EDIT: ok, it shouldn't matter that this makes your team so good, but your leaguemates won't want to see such a big power-shift in the league due to idiocy or possible collusion.

see this is what I'm talking about.. vetoing is to stop people from cheating. if no one is cheating and one person is just supid, congrats to the person that sniffed out the stupid guy..
