hitters on the wire include guys like Kaz Matsui, Span, Weeks, Lind, Polanco Hermida, but none are better than what I already have and as u can see this league favors pitching...
5x5 H2H, NK 10 teams C- JP 1B- Voto 2B- Zobri 3B- ARam SS- Rolins OF- J. Uptn, Choo, A. Gordn UTIL- Fielder BN- C. Crawfrd SP- Hamls, Bumgarner, Galardo, I. Kenedy, Fister, Kurda, Minr, Dempstr, Burnet, Ogando RP- Cishek, Veras, Parnel
and with closer vultures, I have a slim chance of picking up a closer later - I would have to deal for one more than likely - should I offer Corpas over Ray?

I think dropping Sonnanstine for Bonderman or a rookie would be a poor decision. He's nothing special but he's healthy, proven, and reliable. Sonnanstine is a much better bet to have a "good" season than any of the guys on the wire right now.
As far as the trade itself... If you need a SS, I would do it. If you can survive without Hardy I wouldn't do it. Cueto should be pretty good this year and I disagree that his production can be replaced through free agency in a league with pitching that deep. Also, it's probably a matter of when, not if, Ray closes. So yeah, unless you NEED Hardy, I would stay put.
If that can get it done it would be better for you IMO. Either way I'd make the deal. Ray is a surer bet to close at some point this season than Corpas. With your great pitching depth Cueto is expendable and Hardy is a nice upgrade over Tejada. Good deal for you.
Hal·la·day, n. 1. every fifth day in Philadelphia. 2. a day of rest for the bullpen. 3. innings eater. 4. doc. 5. ace.
i'd personally wait and see what tejada does early on in the year before doing this if closers are that much at a premium. value wise though, i easily prefer hardy than what you give up.
Yeah I'd consider the Corpas deal but at this point I would not trade Ray. Hardy will be better than Tejeda but maybe only by 7-10 HR.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
