Carter strikes out a lot and will always have a poor average, but his walks are decent and he's got a great power bat. Last season, over half of his hits went for extra bases. He's obviously a lot closer to the bigs too, being something like 4 years older than Triunfel.
You don't think it's worth mentioning that both of these guys played at the same level last year?
One interesting thing to look at with Carter is that he looks somewhat similar to Chris Davis with more BB's or Pat the Bat. Triunfel is really all about his tools right now. He's been one of the youngest players in his leagues the last 2 years and his career can go in any direction. Maybe he becomes a pretty good player (possibly even a star), maybe he never becomes an MLB starter. People that have watched him play like him though so that says something. But he's really a mystery.
I would probably take Triunfel but I don't particularly like either that much.
