Who to pick up? Whir 100%

Postby Carnac » Wed Apr 01, 2009 12:26 pm

Getting ready to put Smoltz and Escobar on DL when it happens.

My team 5x5 H2H standard cats.

C Sandoval
1B Pujols
2B Kinsler
3B Aram
SS Drew
OF Manny, Markakis, Dye
U Damon

Would like to have 1 bench player to fill in or for injury. Aviles or Thome? Leaning heavily toward Aviles. My other pick up will be a starting pitcher(Kuroda, Wandy, Guthrie).

Will help with yours.

I like Aviles here. Your team has some great sluggers so Thome doesnt seem to be a necessary pickup. Aviles, in my format, also has duel eligibility and 2B and SS so if the oft injured Kinsler goes down or Drew does, or just for days off, Aviles would be a fantastic fill in. aviles in my pick. And if u wanted us to pick a pitcher outta those 3 id say wandy ;-D

Thome will put up better numbers, and Aviles isn't any great shakes. If MI eligibility is more important, though, then go with Aviles.

Wandy is the best all-around pitcher of that group.

Aviles and Wandy are your best bets here.

From the options you've listed, I'd go with Aviles if you're looking for a bench guy.

As for pitching, it depends on what the rest of your staff lookis like. If you need help in ERA and whip, I'd certainly go with Kuroda. If you're looking for some K's and are looking for a big risk/reward payoff, I'd go with Wandy. If he can stay healthy, he's a HUGE sleeper this year.
