I only have 2 closers on my roster, are either of these guys worth the #2 waiver claim?

List your roster and a few other available pitchers. It is hard to offer advice without info.

Not sure why roster is necessary. I currently have 2 closers, Cordero and Capps in a 12 team league...It's basically a matter if either Villaneuva or Downs is worth the #2 waiver claim. I would be dropping Lowe.

If you're referring to Derek Lowe, then no way is it worth picking up Villanueva or Downs. Both of these guys in my opinion will be part time closers. When Trevor Hoffman comes back Villanueva will go back to middle relief and will have little value. I think BJ Ryan will eventually get his closer role back.
Derek Lowe is the Dodgers' #1 pitcher. I'm sure you can offer him to a team that has 3 or more closers (and needs another starter).
Can you help with mine?

If its Seattle's Lowe its a different story. I def wouldn't use my waiver on Villanueva, possibly on Downs. Fernando Rodney will be the closer for Detroit now too. However I think thats going to be a volatile situation and I don't think he will remain the closer for Detroit for long.
If you're in a league with 10 or more teams and you are shallow at closer feel free to use the waiver on Downs. It would be worth the gamble. However keep in mind there's a chance, imo a good chance, that BJ Ryan ends the season as the closer for Toronto.
And to the guy that replied to my post thinking its a good idea to waive Derek Lowe for Scott Downs I would love to be in a league with you.

Yea Ryan and Hoffman have those jobs in cement once they are ready, Downs gets 5-7 saves this year at best and Villanueva's value us all based on Hoffman's health. Look at how much $$$ Jays are giving Ryan and he wasn't all that bad last year when he returned from injury.
