Texeira/Hardy for Reyes/Atkins - PLEASE HELP

Postby smackarito » Wed Apr 01, 2009 10:00 am

It is a Yahoo 6X6 Roto league - categories are - R's, HR's, RBI's, SB's, AVG and OPS - I was offered this trade, here is my lineup, I am a big Yankee fan, but regardless I am not going to get emotional about trades in a fantasy league, especially with money involved...

C - Posada
1B - Atkins
2B - Uggla
3B - A Ramirez
SS - Reyes
OF - M Ramirez
OF - Rios
OF - Ludwick
UT - Matsui
UT - Hawpe
Bench - Konerko
Bench - B Gardner (now the CF for Yanks, 40-60 SB potential)
Bench - Hafner
Bench - Francoeur

I was offered Mark Texeira and JJ Hardy for Jose Reyes and Garrett Atkins... it hurts my SB's, and I suppose for that matter only helps a little with HR's and RBI's, at least I think... am I better off leaving my team as is or should I accept this offer? HELP PLEASE! Thanks...

do not make this trade. the drop from reyes to hardy is much greater than the drop in value from texiera to atkins in my opinion. also, if u look to move reyes u have to make sure u get some sb back in the deal or u will regret it. think of reyes like lebron james in fantasy basketball. u need to be overwhelmed to move a stud like reyes and that offer isnt overwhelming.

Hey thanks for help with mine! I would have to agree with the previous poster, The dropoff between Reyes and Hardy is just too big, plus you can get away with having Atkins at first.

No way you make that trade, especially not in roto. If it were H2H, you might conider it (even though I still wouldn't so it). But the advantage of having Reyes' steals is worth way too much.

Pass.

If you like tex you can think about a possible counter trade since you are given up the best player in the deal you should be getting a quality 2nd player while not giving up much with the second pick...without knowing his roster its tough to suggest who else to target...but remember unless you really love the trade i wouldn't do it since your given up the best player in the deal
