Carlos Marmol and Joe Mauer

Postby Funky_Monk » Tue Mar 31, 2009 11:37 pm

With the news that Gregg will close over Marmol, how much is Marmol worth? I have him on my bench, and I think it'll be a great spot for him, but what do you guys think? Should I look at the Waiver Wire (Manny Corpas, J.J. Putz, Chris Ray, etc.), or keep Marmol on my bench hoping he gets more games in than one thinks.

Also, some guy in my league dropped Joe Mauer. I have Ryan Doumit catching, so I'm not worried about that...but do you think I should claim him hoping he'll be good to have on my one Position player bench spot or for maybe even a possible trade?

Problem is that the league is on ESPN, and the trade deadline is April 8th.

Also, do you guys think Mauer will be DL eligible any time soon?

Supposedly Mauer is supposed to start the season on the DL, I assume they will do that right as they break camp this week. I am have Mauer as well and am waiting for the same thing.

Definitely pick up Mauer, a DL stint is definitely possible. Hold onto Marmol for now, none of the guys you mentioned have much better of a shot at becoming closer than him, and he has much better stuff than all of them.
