Need some opinions on a deal, WHIR!!

Ok, I just got offered Corey Hart and Matt Cain for my Lance Berkman and Justin Verlander. I'm actually considering making this deal, because I'm thinking that Cain is a big upgrade over Verlander and Berkman and Hart are almost a wash. I've got Gonzo to slide to first, so that really isn't a big deal. Anyone have any other thoughts on this? Leave a link and I'll gladly return the favor. 12 team H2H, stat cats are below my team

I don't think Verlander is going to bounce back to stud-dom anytime soon, but BERKMAN AND HART ARE NOT A WASH.

Berkaman is a concensus 2nd rounder, maybe early third. Hart is a fifth-sixth round type. I would prefer Cain over Verlander, but I don't see that being anywhere near enough to make up the difference between Hart and Berkman.

How about Gonzo and Verlander for Cain and Hart?

i agree that you could get more than hart for berkman. i like cain. i do worry about berkman getting injured b/c he's at that point where it's happening more, so i would try to deal him. what about getting matt holliday?

He's already said that if I want to do Gonzo instead of Berkman, it would have to be Billingsley instead of Verlander, and no-way am I doing that. My thinking that Hart and Berk are a wash lies in the fact that Hart can get me the "speed" cats that Berk can't and with Berkman already having shoulder issues and the mention of his possibly having to get cortizone shot(s) has me a bit worried about his season-long power.

Getting speed is fine, but you should be able to get a guy like Matt Kemp or Ichiro. Hart is just too much of a drop-off in my eyes. You could always do Berkman for Hart and Cain by himself, but ultimately I hate giving up the best player in a deal and Berkman is that by far.

I like the move for you, I think you should take it. Cains showing potential and Hart is solid and looks like he'll help your OF a great deal.

I went ahead and made the deal, and I actually like my team better now than before. Think that with the addition of Cain I have one of, if not the, strongest staff in my league. I like my OF more now with Hart, Pence and Young, all 20+HR, 20+SB guys, and it allows me a bit of protection for if/when Wells gets hurt (if he heals up totally to begin with).
