Vote and discuss.

I am reluctant to vote because I see them as different assets. But let me help you this way:

Ellsbury -- not as complete a player, but speed doesn't just go away, and he seems a safe bet to hit between .280-.300. He will score runs, and he has Fenway to slap his doubles around.

Bruce -- Probably a much higher ceiling, but I doubt he is a big average guy right away. He will be worth it for the pop, the rbis, and the athleticism suggests he could steal some bags. He will help you in more areas and projects to be a more complete player.... I would lean Bruce as a keeper beyond this year, but Ellsbury this year and near term.

can you help me out?

I voted Bruce, I think he will help you in more categories.

Bruce. He won't be that far off Ellsbury value worst-case and as was mentioned he has a much higher ceiling.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Any final thoughts?

I'm contemplating trading my Ellsbury for Bruce in a keeper league. The other guy might even throw in Cliff Lee.

Bruce is the more complete player, and could add 20 SB to huge amounts of power.

Bruce for me too. You're talking about a guy that is a potential 1st/2nd round fantasy pick. Ellsbury's steals are great, but he's never going to be elite from a fantasy perspective.

Trade complete. It was my Ellsbury for Bruce, Cliff Lee, and Delgado. Hope I don't regret this one :-°

So you received all three players? That is a very good trade for you. Ellsbury should produce great runs, SBs and maybe average. Bruce could hit 4 categories. Since this is a keeper I think getting Bruce was the right move. ;-D
