M. Kemp for Gallardo and Ellsbury

Postby cmj10us » Tue Mar 31, 2009 1:23 pm

I would get - Gallardo and Ellsbury
I would give - M. Kemp, B. Wilson, and M. Lindstrom
6 x 5 with OBP
12 teams, h2h, keeper
Would you guys do it?

I personally would not do this deal. Kemp is the best player and the person who gets the best player usually wins. Gallardo is unproven and an injury risk and I'm not a huge fan of Ellsbury.

Who are you interested in out of Gallardo and Ellsbury?

I'm just curious if there's someone else available that can fill that need w/o having to give up Kemp, because you'd be giving away the better player.

What's the rest of your roster like?

If you have a lot of closers you could possibly do this deal I like Ellsbury but only if you can afford losing 2 closers.

Is your pitching staff deep or not? If you have a lot of depth at SP you can afford not taking Gallardo despite his great potiential.

I'd have to look at your roster to see if this deal improves your team if you post it that would help a lot.

I think you're overpaying a little plus, as was said above, you're giving the best player in the deal. I know Gallardo has a world of talent but they are going to lean on him and I just think that he is going to run into trouble in the latter half of the season. If you need a pitcher and are going to trade Kemp, I'd be looking for a more proven commodity.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

If I could get Morneau instead of Ellsbury, should I do it?

Here is my team -
C:. G. Soto
1B: R. Howard
2B: C. Utley
3B: G. Atkins
SS: S. Drew
MI: J. Lopez
CI: T. Helton
LF: J. Bay
CF: M. Kemp
RF: J. Dye
OF: A. Jones
UTIL: S. Choo
BN: J. Franceuor
BN: I. Stewart

SP: F. Hernandez
SP: J. Chamberlain
SP: J. Vazquez
SP: A. Harang
SP: C. Billingsley
SP: B. Morrow
RP: B. Fuentes
RP: F. Cordero
RP: M. Gonzalez
RP: M. Lindstrom
RP: B. Wilson
RP: C. Ray

If I do this deal, I'm planning to deal R. Howard and plus for R. Braun.

it's much better if you get morneau, but i don't think you need to give up 3 guys for 2, especially with kemp in the mix. as for the howard deal, i don't think you'd have to add much with him to get braun. try a one for one deal first.

Gallardo isn't really an injury risk. He tore a knee ligament in a freak accident hurdling someone while trying to cover first base. And the guy is a fantastic talent, and in my book he will be more valuable then Kemp at the end of the year. On top of that, you need speed, and you have plenty of RP, and there are more to be had daily on the waiverwire. I'd do this trade.
