Qualls for Doumit?

Ended up with Shoppach as my starting catcher in a H2H 12 team league.

I am being offered Doumit for Qualls.

My closers/relievers are:
Bell
Qualls
Lyon
Zeigler
Madson

this league counts holds as a stat as well.

do I make this trade or is Qualls too valuable to let go of?

on one hand my closers are nothing to write home about and i would hate to lose one but on the other Doumit is an upgrade over Shoppach who might not get much playing time while closers pop up throughout the season with injuries/poor performance, etc.

well to be 100% definitive i'd have to see the rest of your offensive roster, but if memory serves there isn't exactly a statue of chad qualls outside of the BOB for the 09 season, so given your handful of closers there, depending on how much you could use a likely-somewhat-significant boost at the catcher position, yeah i'd be inclined to do it.

again, it really depends on what the rest of your offense is like and if you feel like catcher is a place where you can really gain some ground on other powerhouse/type teams...

Do it immediately - easy choice. Big upgrade @ catcher in exchange for a mid-level closer when you have add'l guys to cover for it.

I would def do this trade....qualls wont be the closer all year and you can always pick up a closer during the season....doumit is a huge upgrade over shoppach
