spend #1 waiver priority on hoffman?

my pitchers are:
webb, peavy, kazmir, greinke, pelfrey, saunders, carmona, wood, percival, and sherrill

should i use my #1 waiver priority to drop one of my pitchers for hoffman?

i could drop sherrill, then put hoffman on the dl and pick up ray, who will probably win the job from sherrill soon anyway.

or, should i hold off until someone waives someone more valuable?

I would probably save the waiver priority and just replace Sherrill with Ray or carry both of them if you can. I'm not sure it's that useful to stash Hoffman on the DL because you'll end up having to make a decision within a week or so.

I'd hold off on that one for now unless your league really values saves. If it is a standard scoring league, I would hold on to your waiver for now.

What type of player am i looking for to use this waiver on? I can only use it on guys that have been dropped by other teams so who should i be looking for to use it?
