Offered McLouth for Soria & Ian Stewart. WHIR

Postby BillyHallDisciple » Mon Mar 30, 2009 9:53 pm

12-team 6x6 keeper (player values go up $5 per year, there's a $220 salary cap per team). Standard categories + OPS for hitters & k/9 for pitchers.

This guy offered me McLouth for Ian Stewart and Joakim Soria. Should I take it? I kinda like Stewart's upside at my MI slot. If I lose him, I'd have to go with someone like Aaron Hill to fill the spot, and I don't think he has nearly as much upside as I-Stew. I also think McLouth's numbers might go down without Bay in the Pirates' line-up.... also, I love having the Mexicutioner, would hate to give him up.

Thoughts?

i wouldn't do it. you have a solid closer in soria. i'd keep him over mcclouth. your OF looks pretty good as is. watch jordan schafer... you might be able to grab him if you're looking for an outfielder.

i'd hold off on the trade, I was a huge fan of McLovin last year, but i'm not sure he's enough of an upgrade for your of to justify shipping off Stewart and Soria... I think Stewart could pay dividends in your format

hold tight, perhaps see if he'll sweeten the deal with a lower tier closer?

For every Brett Myers there's a Nate McLouth...
