Shields or King Felix, pick one > WHIR

Postby dooho » Mon Mar 30, 2009 9:18 pm

im thinking about a trade and i need some opinion. my roster is attached in my sig - it's a 12 team 5x5 league.

get: c. jax/king felix or shields
give: youk/heath bell

now i like having 3 solid closers, but i could also use a SP. im also hurting for power and im not sure that giving up youk is the best idea. then again he had a career year last year, does he hit .300 25/110 again, or does he revert back to .285 17/85?

what do you think of this deal and if you like it, which pitcher would you chose?

thanks, leave a link.

I'd hold off from making the deal. While you can certainly use a pitcher, your offense could use a little help too. I think giving up Youk, one of your best hitters, would be quite the blow. For what it's worth, though, I'd definitely take shields over King-Felix; the win potential makes a huge difference.

i agree with above. i like shields over felix. but, i don't think you need to lose youkilis.

i hear you guys about youk, but before his huge breakout last year he was a .285 17/85 hitter. guess you're buying into the career year. i also see conor jackson as capable of putting up .300 17 90 himself.

I think I lean towards Shields on this one... he's proven himself whereas King Felix has yet to "put it all together"... he's also on an awful awful team...

For every Brett Myers there's a Nate McLouth...
