Yes, it's a big downgrade from Kinsler to Aviles, but Aviles isn't exactly garbage. I love the thought of getting Tex and then Quentin for my OF. That allows me to put Ibanez in one of my Utility spots and place Lastings Milledge on my bench (where he belongs). What do others think? Do I stay put...? WHIR
I love you getting Quentin but don't love you giving up Kinsler. It's close, but I'd say stand pat unless you're in love with the idea of Tex. A pretty fair trade either way.
Nice team, BTW. 10 teamers can land you very good squads, which you did.
As far as the trade, Kinsler scares me a little bit. Great talent on a great offensive team in a great park, but somewhat of an injury risk. I like the deal, personally.
I like the deal a lot. Kinsler goes way to high in drafts; he's not the stud we all hope he is, like Utley. He's still solid and the 2nd best 2b, but they all tend to be overrated this year (and that darned Pedroia too). Anyway, you get an offensive upgrade over Milledge with Q that makes up for the loss of offense and Aviles is certainly no slouch.
Take it with the idea of trading for a stud 2B with the glut of talent you have if need be.
I'd make the deal. I think Tex is the best player there, clear upgrade over Morneau. Quentin/Kinsler both carry the same positives and negatives really in regards to potential and injury history. Aviles is a decent throw in. The only way I wouldn't do it is if middle infielders are incredibly difficult to acquire should you try to move an outfielder but I still like the Tex side better.
I think Tex and Quentin for Morneau and Kinsler would be pretty fair, though I would prefer the Morneau side. Throw in Aviles, and I think the deal slides to the Tex side. I think you have to do it...
