Ok, late round computer issues put me behind the 8-ball in one of my leagues. 12 team 5x5 roto league with standard pitching categories.
My problem is when I was out of the draft room, the autopick didn't take any pitchers. (Next time I will work harder on the pre-ranking.)
So, I am stuck with:
SP: Roy Oswalt (SP), Ervin Santana (SP) RP: Carlos Marmol (RP), Kerry Wood (RP) P: Carlos Zambrano (SP), Derek Lowe (SP), David Aardsma (RP) BN: Aaron Harang (SP)
Someone just offered me Lidge for Oswalt. Is it smart to do this and try to spot start pitchers. I know there aren't great options here.
Thanks! Full Rosters (Batting uses OBP instead of AVG)

I'd say it's pretty good since Marmol isn't closing right now. However, you have to ask yourself... would you rather have a great starter or closer? Who'll get you more points?
You really can't afford to deal Oswalt, even if you only have one closer. Ervin is out and after that, it gets pretty ugly for you. You have to try shopping your hitting around first.

Agreed. Like it or not, Oswalt is your ace, and the dropoff is too big after him to move him for an RP.
Is there anyone out on the wire? Aardsma would seem like an obvious drop now that Morrow has been named closer, and I hate to see you give up a good player. All your other pitchers are worth holding onto, and Gregg blew 9 saves last year, so Marmol may step up soon enough.
In relievers, even if the obvious closers are all gone, you could get lucky picking up a guy who will give you some cheap saves and maybe even finish in the closer's role. Wheeler will get saves when Percival gets hurt (and he will), Ray will take over for Sherrill, Corpas will eventually take over for Street, Villanueva will get saves now until Hoffman comes back, Downs may get some saves because BJ Ryan's velocity is down, and Putz might get a few. And of course, be alert for injuries.
This early in the season (we're not even IN the season), I'd also consider just going after the best player available on the wire (even if he doesn't fill a current need of yours) and then start looking to make a deal where you trade a non-pitcher for a pitcher. Look at the teams with 4 closers, the teams who could cut one loose - what do they need? Encarnacion, Beltre, and Loney would all seem to be good trade bait. You could also decide to stockpile some starters, two guys I like that might still be out on the wire would be Kawakami and Maholm. Good luck.
