If you have a large enough bench where you can store Wieters away until he comes back, then I would say go for it - just make sure you have another decent catching option until then.
If you play a limited bench, or have no clear choice of what to do while waiting for him to be promoted, or who to drop, I might avoid adding him.
Well, right now I have Navarro starting in my catcher spot. I have Guillen on the bench, but he will start until Arod comes back. I have Lopez (who I like for his infield positions), and I have Murphy, and Gardner (who was granted starting CF for the Yanks).
So, I guess I can probably drop Downs and maybe Gardner.
What do you think?
Or, do you think Navarro will be fine?

Downs is so intriguing because of his potential value with the Ryan situation. But Gardner could be pretty valuable as a spot starter and in case of injury. If there are some decent SB options on the WW still then I would drop Gardner but if not then Downs. I guess you could just take zeros at the C position for 4-6 weeks but Navarro is pretty good so I probably wouldn't do that.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
