Trade including Reyes and Rollins... Do I take it?

Postby maj0819 » Mon Mar 30, 2009 6:17 pm

I have been offered Jimmy Rollins and Maglio Ordonez for Reyes and Kevin Gregg. I think Maglio is an upgrade over Dye and Pence in this format. Pence OBP is in the lower .300. I am worried that I am giving up to much in Reyes. If I do this I would try to trade Pence.

This is a 7x7 H2H league and here are the categories:

Hitting: R,2b,HR,Avg,SB,OBP,Fielding %
Pitching: W,L,SV,BS,ERA,WHIP,BB

We play every position with no DH/Util and outfield is broken down by LF,CF,RF.

My Roster:
C Sandoval
1B Adrian Gonzalez and Conor Jackson
2B Brian Roberts
SS Jose Reyes
3B Chris Davis
LF Carlos Lee and Conor Jackson
CF Carlos Beltran
RF Hunter Pence and Jermaine Dye

Relief Pitchers:
Soria
Heath Bell
Kevin Gregg
Jason Motte

I don't think I'd do it. Dye is useless on your bench, and he's pretty solid IMO. Is Rollins / Magglio better than Reyes / Dye / Gregg? I guess it potentially depends on who you could get with Dye... I just don't really like Magglio this year for some reason...

Dye isn't much of an upgrade and while I don't think he'll keep it all season, Gregg has the job and some definite value. I'd hold off; perhaps you can counter for something better than Dye...

And I'd like to add that I don't think a whole lot about Magglio. That dude is NOT going to have a good year. He sat around forever in our draft.
