Escobar or Zimmerman

Postby stat-master » Mon Mar 30, 2009 3:08 pm

I can make a waiver move and am deciding between Kelvim Escobar and Jordan Zimmerman. I know that Escobar is out the first month or so, but who should provide more value this season?

Escobar is hitting 95-96 on the gun and expected to be back at the end of April. Zimmermann is sexier but if healthy, Escobar has more upside for 09. Zimmermann also comes with the risk of getting sent down to the minors if he struggles.

Escobar pretty easily. Zimmermann is only a hope and a dream at this point. While he's a decent pitcher you still need to temper expectations. Escobar is a very nice option late or as a WW pickup...he's got top notch stuff when going healthy. They say he may not even miss a month either, could be back sooner.

Grab Escobar, wait til he's placed on the DL, then pick up Zimm if still available. If he's not there, take someone else until Escobar comes off the DL.

Escobar, Zimmerman is only for Dynasty and deep keeper leagues

Grab Escobar and put him on the DL when it is available, then grab Zimmermann for a test run.

Escobar should be your first priority no matter what though.

I like Escobar, but what Waiver are we talking? I dont think I would throw my #1 waiver on Kelvim before the season starts. I'd rather save it on the next prodigy to come from AAA thats not in the database (every year theres one) (lincecum, gallardo, price, et al)

To me a # 1 waiver is more valuable than gold if you spend it in the right place.

But if we're talking a mid-late waiver pick, grab Escobar.

Help on mine?
