Is Ryan Spilborghs the real deal??

Ryan Spilborghs is available in my league. I have seen a few people say grab him while you can...What do you think??

It depends on who else is available and what you need.. he's probably not going to hit 20 homers or steal 20 bases.. But he won't kill you in BA and should score a lot of runs in Colorado. My prediction is .285 18 homers 19 SB's and that's the high side for him.

Depends on who you would be dropping...certainly can't argue with the risk/reward with him as a WW pickup...

Spilbourghs for MVP!

...there are a few threads on here about him, but he's definitely a good end game grab. he's batting leadoff, and the consistent improvement he has shown point to a breakout

I wouldn't read to much into this, IF the rockies decide to keep Fowler up out of Spring Training, they are obviously going to play him, but I dont think the red hot Spilly would sit......I think they would use Spilborghs in LF, probably a better position for him anyways, with the deep outfield @ Coors Field, plus he could spell Brad Hawpe in RF, vs tough lefties the odd time. Seth Smith is a bench player in my opinion.

I just dropped Guthrie for Spilborghs. I hope this guy has a full-time job and leads-off. If he doesn't, oh well, he was a FA pickup. I'm praying for a McLouth-like breakout from the Rockies ST MVP! lol.

I hope Fowler gets more seasoning in the minors. We'll have to wait and see. If Fowler makes the team, it will be an iffy situation.

I pretty much agree with what BUCCOFAN said (though I think Seth Smith will be a solid platoon in LF if Fowler doesn't make the team initially). Spilly is finally getting his shot after years of platooning and sporadic playing time. I think he's the real deal and could be in for a very solid year, especially if he bats leadoff.
